With August finished I thought I would share with you all my favourites over the past month.
During the winter months my Burt's Bees lip balm has been an absolute staple. I love this product all year round but in winter I have found my lips getting dry throughout the day and this lip balm has really helped keep my lips moisturised and conditioned. It smells AMAZING - grapefruit is one of my favourite smells! It also lasts a long time (I bought it ages ago and use it at least three times a day and it is still lasting.) If you haven't previously tried any Burt's Bees products then this will be a perfect one to start off with. Available in most chemists and department stores for around $7.00 - this is a definite repurchase for me!
Recently on cooler days my hands have been getting a bit dry and cracked. So I went out and bought the Nivea Intensive Nourishing Hand Creme with macadamia nut oil because it smelt amazing and looked like it could work. The product sinks into your skin quickly and doesn't leave your hands feeling oily. Within days I could see results as my hands became smoother and the cracks and redness began to fade. This product is a winter essential!
As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I bought a few things from Luxola
One of the products I have really been loving is the Sleek blush in Rosegold. It gives a healthy sheen to your skin and is super pigmented so you don't need to use much. It has a slight shimmer that highlights your cheeks and gives the illusion that you have been running around with the wind - minus the wind-blown hair! I usually don't wear a lot of blush but I have really been reaching for this more often than not.
A couple of weeks ago, I went away for a few days and forgot to pack my cleanser. Oops! Big mistake - a few days after I had a few blemishes (nicest way to put them) and it made me realise what a great job my cleanser was doing on my skin and how much I need to use it. I love all of Simple's products as they are natural and perfect for sensitive skin. I am currently using (and loving) the Simple Kind to Skin Facial Wash and the Hydrating Light Moisturiser. The face wash leaves my skin feeling super clean and free of make-up. Using these products my skin has been really bright and clear and I only get blemishes once in a blue moon!
A few days ago I tried this product but I already know that I am going to love it! It is the MAC Studio Finish concealer. This is amazing for covering dark circles under the eyes and any blemishes or redness on your skin. The other day I went out and literally only wore this concealer and my skin looked lovely and natural. It is highly pigmented so you only need to dab a tiny dot on anything you want to cover on your face. I think I will now be using this product a lot.
Sick of eating toast for breakfast, I decided to start making smoothies in the morning. I use frozen raspberries, fresh strawberries, Greek yoghurt and milk and put it all in my blender. Smoothies are a delicious and heathy breakfast that keep my energy up until lunchtime. I have just been loving having something fresh and delicious for breakfast!
Okay this is a bit of an odd one but I have been LOVING french braids! My friend did a french braid on my hair the other day and I got complimented by multiple people on how pretty my hair looked and how it suited me. I have attempted to braid my hair for ages and never been able to do it, especially considering how thick, wavy and layered my hair is! But I gave it another go and I think I can actually braid hair now! It took some practice but I think I have got it. I wouldn't stay I have 'mastered the art' of braiding hair but I can do a french braid on my own hair so I will be wearing it like that more often from now on.
The last thing is a movie that I watched a couple of weeks ago. I have heard many people say that 'The Breakfast Club' is the greatest movie of all time and I hadn't watched it yet. Something came up and I had to watch the movie for research of the time era etc. So I sat down, with some chocolate (how can you watch a movie without chocolate) and watched The Breakfast Club. It was AMAZING!!! It is currently my favourite movie and I could watch it again and again on repeat for days on end! Basically (if you don't already know) it is about five teenagers who are stuck in detention at school...I won't give anything else away - you will have to watch it!
